Any word on Apple integrating SSD into Mac Minis?

Hey there,

I'd like to upgrade to a 2010 Mac Mini, but won't do it until I can get it preloaded with an SSD.

I've been searching, and haven't seen anything yet. It seems to me that if a Macbook can have an SSD from the factory, the Mini could too.

Just wondering if anybody has seen anything either way on SSD from the factory.

No rumors as of yet. Based on Apple's current distribution of SSD offerings (MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, MacBook Air), my guess is that they will keep official SSD options restricted to higher-end Macs as a means of differentiating performance between systems.

In any event, current SandForce-based SSDs already outclass Apple's Toshiba-based drives, so in my opinion the current official SSD options aren't worth the money. You could probably get a 3rd party SSD installed by an independent Mac service shop for $50 or so.
