Just off the phone to Apple. After a 30 phonecall with somebody that I could bearly understand, I was sent round in circles. I knew it was going to go badly wrong when I had to say my serial number 6 times...
The cloest I got to a result was when he recommended I drive to my closest Apple dealer (a 4-5 hour drive small Irish country roads) to let them check it out.
He wasn't able to tell me what they'd actually do if they found it to be a hardware fault, which of course, it is. This makes the journey even more riskier - am I going to travel all that way just for some guy who has passed a few Apple tech exams to suck air through his teeth and say "Yep, it's buzzing ok, definitiely the main board I'm afriad". I'll drive all the way back, get on the phone to be told that I'm going to have to post the damn thing back, and be without a computer for 3 weeks while they "repair" the damn thing, and the other 3/4 things that are wrong with it!
What are others' opinions?
Damn, am I ****ed off...
Steve.
P.S. I suppose I should mention - that as I sit here, I'm currently waiting for a replacement power lead to arrive - the only way I can use my MacBook Pro at the moment, is by pressing in really hard on the MacSafe connection, and holding it there for about 5 seconds and sloooowly taking my hand away. 9 times out of ten power just goes off again, but maybe once, the battery will charge for maybe, 5 minutes before cutting out again.
