Was working on my Mac and got an Adobe popup wanting to install a Flash Update (v. 32.0.0.453). I thought it was a malware popup, but then I notice the Adobe Icon on the dock. Then I went and checked my Utilities folder, lo and behold, there it was (it had downloaded earlier in the morning).

Anybody else get this? I dumped it as I no longer run Flash, but wanted to make sure that it wasn't anything insidious trying to burrow its way onto my computer.

I'd get rid of it. You don't need Flash. In fact it's highly susceptible to malware. Even if Adobe themselves hand delivered it to you at your home, the software itself is constantly under attack by hackers. It's a security risk.

That why I was surprised they even bothered - No one I know has used it for years.

Flash? How 1990. One cannot upgrade something that one doesn't have/use/need.

Legit versions of Flash is insidious and fraught with issues and vulnerabilities... random drive-by "downloads" are worse - nothing but an offer to install malware.

I had another friend get it as well. Needless to say I deep-sixed it for them right away.
