I think the iPad is great and all but I was really hoping for something more portable and pocketable. I have a 13inch laptop that works just fine for watching movies or web browsing and don't need the large iPad for that. It feels just too large and a bit heavy for how I want to use it. After seeing the teardown photos it looks like there is plenty of room that could have been eliminated with a smaller 7 or 8 inch screen size without changing any of the other major parts. I've read rumors of smaller screens being tested and remember reports by analysts that the iPad had a 7 inch screen. This is a game changing device and perhaps Apple has more than one size of them in it's plans. They could use a smaller screen with the same number of pixels just by changing the pixel size so all regular iPad apps would run just fine..
So could there be more than one member of this line in Apples plan's?
The iPod Touch is too small and probably will not get any larger so I don't see that the a "mini" option in case you are going to say use that.

I really would like to know why people are still coming to this forum to talk about how they aren't going to buy a product.

I'm going to go to the GM Automotive forums just to let everyone there know that I'm not going to buy a GM car. I want to see if it's super fun to do that...because I'm obviously missing something.

Personally I'm on the fence. But I would love to have a larger iPhone that is still pocketable (like in cargo-pants pockets, for example).

IT NEEDS THE BEZEL. I have one and love it but could see the whole thing being an inch smaller.
I really wish it was lighter though.

I really wish it could fit in a coat pocket, but it can't do that with the current design without severe compromises. Yes, you could make something in between the size of an iPhone and an iPad and yes, that would appeal to some number of people, but you can't build and support an infinite number of size variations. Do you want the iPad app, the iPad Mini app or the iPhone app? Or a universal app that's a lot bigger than it needs to be to support three different designs?

The most interesting hope I see for a pocket-sized device that shares concepts with the iPad is the Courier. However, that doesn't exist yet, and it remains to be seen what features it has.

I think the size of the iPad is fine. Probably just right. But I would also like to see a larger iPhone -- like around 5" or so. Interesting article on that here.

Do you have anything to say on the subject of this thread? Some people think that 5-7" device might be more useful. You have a problem with that? What if Apple release 7" iPad in two months? Will you start attacking Apple? I doubt that.

I wish apple would release different size ipads in 1 inch incrementals starting with 1" all the way up to 24", that would make everyone happy.
