I'm thinking about purchasing the Apple Silicone Magcases for my iPhone 12 Pro. However, I'm curious to hear from people about a question that I had.

With the issue of the MagSafe leaving an imprint on the silicone cases, I'm wondering if anybody has had the imprint appear on their phones while having the case on and using the Magsafe charger at the same time. Did the imprint transfer to the back of the phone while having the case on and using magsafe?

I talked with an Apple Specialist today and they said that it shouldn't. The case should act as a 'wall' to protect the phone from getting the imprint while using magsafe. I don't care about the case getting the imprint whatsoever. Phone cases will get worn out and beat up over time when going out in public and handling the phone. Cases are meant to protect the phone. But with the issue of the magsafe leaving imprints, I'm just curious as to whether or not people have gotten imprints from having the magsafe case on while using the magsafe charger. I pretty much have a case on my phone 24/7. I rarely take the phone off unless I'm cleaning the phone or sending the phone into Apple to get something fixed. But I was curious about this and wanted to hear what people's experience with that.

It'd have to be a pretty rare occurrence unless you leave it sitting on the charger for an extended (quite long not just a few days) period of time. Not enough time for it to create an imprint.

I have seen an image on here of a ring on the back of the iPhone itself which was made while using a case... however, there was no confirmation whether it was a permanent ring or if it could be wiped off...

I think it was likely just an accumulation of dust due to the magnets on the back of the phone...

What I can say is that even with the leather case the ‘ring’ seems to only be really noticeable on the case when first removing it from the MagSafe charger... but I find with my case it slowly gets less noticeable throughout the day. So I cant see it marking the phone itself at all really

I think I've seen that post somewhere yesterday about how the iPhone itself had a strange ring on it while using a case. But I thought that was pretty rare for it to already have a ring before it's given to a customer, coming out of the store that is.

I thought about getting one of Apple's leather cases at first — But I thought the silicone cases would offer better protection since it's a more 'jelly-like' case than the leather. But that's just me!
