Anybody gone from Mac to Windows and then changed from iPhone to Samsung phone?

Hi, I used to use Samsung Galaxy Note series phones and tablets few years ago. It was difficult to backup the entire phone without bricking the OS. So, I moved to iPhone. One thing I miss is the S-pen. It has happened many times that when I tried to drop down short notes or memos, there were some inconvenience in using the apps and I lost the info.

Anybody found that after moving from Mac to Windows, it is more convenience to use Android phone rather than an iPhone for ease of backup, sync of calendar and integration of files/information?

Sync: iPhone is probably still easier by default. With customization of Android and changing default apps. Android can achieve tighter integration with Windows. Similar to iPhone with a Mac. It will take some work.

Backup: iPhone is way easier in Windows. Just connect to iTunes and backup. Same as a Mac. Android may not backup everything you have to choose between a bunch of backup apps. They all seem to have a weakness.

Android: I'd go with a vanilla Android if you switch to Android. The Pixel may not be the best but you get reliable updates. Plus you have a blank slate to customize as you desire. Couldnt say much about Samsung. Some laud their heavily customized GUI and Bixby. Others hate them.

Samsung Smart Switch is a pretty good backup app. I have it installed on Windows.

I only use Windows PCs, since forever, I also only use iPhones since the 1st launch. A great combo for me. I use MS Office 365, iCloud and Adobe's cloud for calendars, productivity and file transfers. I am considering giving up my pc for an Apple though, but I am worried that I've been so used to Window's shortcuts and functionality it may be hard to get the hang of MacOS.

One of the reasons I switched from Mac's to Windows is because of Windows 8 mobile and my Nokia 1020 from an iPhone 4. Windows Mobile is still my favorite Mobile OS by far but since it never took off when it came time to get a replacement i got a Samsung Galaxy phone and have stuck with that line on Android so far. I just do not like iOS at all, finding it just to restrictive.

I’ve used a MacBook at home since 2015 and before that I’d always used windows. The Mac is relatively easy to use in comparison. However I’d still say that I’m better at using windows even though I no longer use it as my personal machine. There’s just a lot of muscle memory. All our computers at work have been upgraded to windows 10 and I’ve been doing a lot of trouble shooting for my colleagues.

I don’t think you’ll have any problems getting to grips with macOS. It’s quite straight forward in comparison to windows.

When it was time to move on from my iPhone SE, it wasn't going to be another iPhone because of the price of newer models and removal of the headphone jack.

I went with an LG Stylo 3. $100 total cost, no contract. It has a built-in stylus. It's no S-Pen, but I have to admit that it is very handy to have a stylus available. It wasn't my first Android... I've had the HTC Dream (1st Android phone), a Sharp Aquos Crystal, and a few others in between.

I don't ever see myself returning to an iPhone.

The Galaxy Note and a Surface Pro makes a great combination. Using OneNote, you can edit ink on either device fine. And the Microsoft Launcher gives some good integration. Its not as seamless as all Apple ecosystem, but its getting better and better and Microsoft is pushing to use Android to replicate a similar ecosystem opportunity that is more heterogeneous.
