My 12' powerbook g4 just got stolen about 2 weeks ago and i have a new macbook pro on the way. I remember one of the very few gripes i used to have with my powerbook was that it had abysmal airport reception compared to my girlfriends ibook(about 500 dollars cheaper). I once read in some forum that this was due to the powerbooks casing not allowing the full signal to get to the airports antenna. I wanted to know if any of u out there have noticed any improvements over these two models.

yes, it was known that the entire PB line had bad reception.

Since they are made out of the same case, I don't expect much better - but I can't tell you for sure, I only have a MacBook.

Great reception on there..

well, one thing i noticed was that the little plastic looking thinks on the left and right sides of the LCD are now gone on the mbp's. Im pretty sure they were supposed to act as antennas. I think, because of this, one of two things could happen. The reception is gonna be crap now, or apple figured out a way to get better reception without those little thingy's.
