Just purchased a new 27'imac and wanted to get speakers for it. Anybody own the z-5500s? I wanted to know if the satellites were wireless and I dont see anywhere on the site saying its mac compatible. Can anyone tell me how to connect it to mac?

I use them on my Macbook Pro and I am thinking about getting an iMac. You can use an optical SPDIF cable to output optical audio to the speakers.

I've had my original 5500's for many years now, first on my PC's and then on my 27" iMac. Still the best bang for the buck in 5.1 speakers. No, the satellites are not wireless, wired only. The best way to connect them to your iMac is with the optical input on the Z-5500's. Toslink optical cables are cheap now and with the optical connection, you can output direct digital info from the software DVD player in the iMac and the 5500's will properly decode the Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.

They're also nicely styled in black and silver which matches the iMacs perfectly so another added bonus if aesthetics matter to you. Cheers!
