I hope so. It’s probably the only feature that would make me upgrade from 7+.

I imagine portrait mode will be adapted for video recording not just photos. HDR video may be a feature of the X Plus

Current models do 4K video now. I have the 8 Plus and it does 4K. Now the state of the art keeps advancing to 6K and more or why not?
I asked about 4K HDR though. I know it shoots 4K.

As Adam mentioned, the new phones can already do what you would like, OP. Get with the MacRumors program. ;)

Check Apple's website for details.

I think it is a software solution not a X2 hardware solution.

"The new support also unlocks resolutions in up to 8K, according to Vimeo, which viewers can watch on devices that support output of these resolution levels (4K, 5K, 6K, and 8K), or download them for file sharing later. Because Vimeo is also a video marketplace where creators can sell videos, the company noted that 8K Ultra HD support isn't just about streaming video (since 8K displays are still nascent in the market), but also for selling, distributing, and submitting videos to festivals "in the best quality possible."

Yes, I hope the A12 would have it to match the Snapdragon 845. I would expect it to have 480 fps slow-mo too.

Sony’s next cell has it. I would hope with the X2 being so far out, it should do it also. While 4K is nice, HDR is where the resolution shines. Other than that feature, I’m not anticipating anything enticing me enough to get a new phone.

It will be the most high-tech feature on the upcoming iPhone X2. Well, Hope Company will add 4 HDR video and steal the best camera tag!
