I've been scouring the official waiting thread...but not sure where the shipments are at now (apart from random folks who ordered early but still haven't shpped). I still have a ways to wait--ordered on the 21st, but wondering if there's any chance that it'll come earlier!

Interesting. Despite ordering on the 21st I have the same ship date of 2/12. Mine is supposed to arrive by the 18th, but I upgraded to next day shipping which hasn't been reflected in my order status yet.

Not yet shipped

I've heard of one person who ordered a standard model on the 16th prepared to ship, but that is it. Mine is a CTO 1.8/80.

I ordered the 26th of January, scheduled to arrive Feb 26 (ship 20, arrive 26).

Is it typical of Apple to bump these dates up if they get more stock quicker or are these pretty much accurate?

I remember when I used to order Dell laptops they came a week to week and a half early.

I think the backlog is getting worse. Must be a popular model. I ordered a 1.8/80 on the 2/2. Apple says ships by 2/26...ouch!

Same date as you for my SSD model.

Lets hope this week they can squeeze in a few days of mass manufacturing before the Chinese holiday.

Not this week, but next week earliest for full store rollout. I think the U.S. and Canada first need to stabilize before they rollout out in the rest of the world.

ah but they still have to ramp up production so all stores will have enough stock prob have to reserve a couple plattes of airs just for stores

but yea that would suck for the preorder ppl thought

I think an online order is the best way to go. Even orders put in today might even get to you before you can find one in a store.

lol, the dates though are set to a certain schedule that is outdated (before the Chinese situation). Once the situation is under control the entire manufacturing schedule will change, and probably even increase outputs because of the storms. I'm hoping this week all the dates will change radically.

There are a few in the European "waiting to ship thread" that ordered on the 17th that have advanced to "prepared for shipment" but I haven't seen any stateside yet.

I ordered today for a CTO 1.8/80 gb hd and superdrive and I got an estimated shipped by 26th delivered by 29th.

Anyone think it'll be sooner than that?

I did the exact same thing today (other than the Super Drive-I already picked that up). I got tired of getting the run around by uninformed/misinformed/deceitful reps.

FWIW, I do believe that most of the reps are just trying to make their customers happy, but I think Apple has messed this whole launch up so bad, the local reps were left to twist in the wind. I still believe that a forthright explanation from Apple would have satisfied all of us, and we would have been a lot less vocal about the MBA availability debacle.

IF I can track one down at a store, I'll cancel my online order.

yea I was in the exact same situation...calling every store...trying to find just a standard config (when what i wanted and ordered was a 1.8/80). I finally said enough and ordered online, deciding to wait it out and get exactly what i want. Also, I don't believe the employees are intentionally mixing up the story with availability...i think they just plain don't know...otherwise, we would get a consistent "not available until (blank) day"
