Anyone been able to get Apple Care + after 60 days

Long story short, I thought the iPads were extended up to 1 year after purchase just like the iphones.

Well I found out today after 80 days of ownership that that doesn't apply to iPads. Really hitting myself over the head because one bad move and I could be out a lot of money for a screen repair.

I believe the time limit for iPads and iPhones has always been 60 days. Consider that Apple care and Apple care + only extend the original warranty one year not two years like for the Mac.

The iPhone was recently extended up to 1 year from purchase.

Yes, you still have to purchase AppleCare + for an iPad within 60 days after purchase.
Apple's web page for AppleCare + shows exactly the same 60 days for purchasing AppleCare + for an iPhone.

I recall reading about this extension and looked through my emails and online to see where I might have seen this. It was from a Macrumors article, based on multiple sources and a senior Applecare advisor. Maybe it was just a rumor and never happened.
