Has anyone actually been paid by Apple yet for July? It's Aug 20th today and I have nothing yet.

Anyone else?

Did you make at least $250 in any one region? If not you won't get your 'check' until you break $250.

has apple lowered their cut from 30% ?

it seems abit outrageous to me.

you would be better off giving your app away for free. and then having a credit card sign up form. or some way that charges to their cell phone bill.

you also wouldnt have to wait for the $250 minimum ...

Umm, 30% is actually a very good price. For apps that are pulling in a few thousand downloads, the cost of bandwidth alone is worth that 30%. Factor in the additional advertising through the App Store, especially that EVERY iPhone/iPod Touch (on 2.0+) has the ability to get your app directly from their device, I'd split it 50/50 if Apple said thats how they would do it.

I suspect, based on my software sales for other devices with a similar installed base, that I'm am currently getting more than 10X more customers from the iPhone App Store, both total and as a percentage of the potential customer base.

So I could get "only" 70% of the App Store's sales. Or 100% (minus credit card fees, chargeback losses, hosting costs, web site development costs, etc.) of less than 1/10th the sale volume. You do the math.

They are contractually obligated to pay us no later than 45 days after the end of the month ("July" ended on August 2nd for Apple), so the latest we could be paid by is September 16.

The lady I talked to at Apple says they usually pay at the end of the month for the previous month, so the earliest I'd expect it is the 29th of this month.

That sounds about right. Someone else posted an email response they received about it from Apple, which said that financial reports usually appear about 15 days after the end of the month, and checks are cut 15 days after that.
