Anyone discussing the new iMac keyboard layout on the new MB?

I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about, but that keyboard has always been on Macbooks since they were upgraded from iBooks to MacBooks.
God... don't they teach these kids language anymore?
Anyways, by "keyboard layout", do you mean the chiclet keys ? That's been part of the MacBook design since its introduction in May, 2006.

The extended layout has a full complement of keys, including document navigation controls, a numeric keypad, and special function keys for Mac features such as brightness, volume, eject, play/pause, Exposé, and more.
Of course there's no numeric keypad, but the remainder has been added to this keyboard. I'm returning a refurb MB that did not have this layout.

They might... they might not. Apple is really unpredictable about things like that. For instance, the MBP has gone quite some time with the Powerbook style keyboard and no maglatch. It's a reasonable, if minor, rumor, though.
I think the hot keys are something they are going to transition to across the line. The last one left is the Pro and I think we could see that (pretty sure) at Macworld 2008. Even if the new Pro doesn't incorporate the key design of the Macbook, the hotkeys and new functions should be there because it is apple's new "standard". (Mind you, I wouldn't count out an option to get the original layout or some way to set it to "classic" settings on the Pro for high end users who use the function keys for so much more than dashboard and controlling iTunes.)
