Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat, coming from an older iPad with the Pencil 2 to the new ones but due to the incompatibility forced to get either the Pencil pro or USB-C Pencil. Just wondering if anyone like me realises they’re not an artist lol, only use Pencil to make notes and is going to downgrade to the USB C pencil. Just wondering what thoughts are on that? Whether it’s a good shout or whether you lose out too much.

Not sure what you're referring to with the Pencil 2 "incompatibility." The Pencil 2 is compatible with all later iPads - only the original pencil is incompatible with most iPads that use USB-C instead of Lightning.

The Pencil 2 isn’t compatible with the new iPad Air or iPad Pro - in fact, the only iPad that is compatible with the Pencil 2 that Apple currently sells is the iPad mini.

I would never buy the USB C pencil when it offers the exact some functionality of third party pencil clones you can find for as low as $15. The main feature missing from the USB C pencil and from the clones is pressure sensitivity, which is present in pencil 1, 2 and pro.

Apple Pencil 2nd gen (for anyone in the market for one) is on sale for the same exact price as the pencil USB C model @ Walmart for $79.
