Anyone else accidentally activating the bottom bar (Siri) when typing on 18.1?

The latest iPad update ruined typing in horizontal landscape in that I’m always accidentally activating the double touch action bar (new Siri) as it’s right below the space bar and my thumbs hit it.

This is an impressive regression in usability on the iPad.

Anyone else running into this while typing in horizontal landscape on the iPad?

This is happening on my iPad M1 Pro

I have done the same an annoying amount of times. It would seem like AI could tell if I was in the middle of a sentence and hitting the space bar or hitting the Siri bar separately.

I haven’t, honestly, but I can reproduce the behavior by double-tapping the bot of the space bar. I used to just use a single space after a period (a hard habit to get into after learning double-space in typing class ~40 years ago) but then I had to re-learn the habit WITHOUT an actual period key to het a period-space 🤔 which would maybe make it more likely?

I guess I’m hitting the space bar pretty cleanly in the middle as I just about have to try to invoke Siri, it hasn’t come up in normal typing for me yet. But if it did I’d turn off Settings > General > Keyboard > “.” Shortcut
