Anyone else been done on price?

I bought a new app yesterday, Camera Timer from NaughtyNuts for $3.99. Within in a day of its release its now $1.99! Thats the third time its happened to me on the app store. Why can't developers get the price right up front? I know things go on sale after a few months but in less than a day? I’m sick of supporting developers who basically shaft early adopters!! I think I'm just going to wait until everything goes on sale now.

Yep, I'm with you. I started waiting a couple of weeks ago. I was beginning to feel like a complete fool.

Now I have a list and check AppShopper daily to make sure I don't get "shafted". I'm buying less apps as a result. I don't know how long I'll wait for a particular item to go on sale but at least it handles my impulse buys.

It happens unfortunately. If price is a big issue for ya, I'd suggest following AppShopper and only grabbing apps after price drops

when i see an app with a price, i usually wait like a couple weeks or so. but then when i go and check i cant find it cuz its been bumped by all the newer apps that came out

Yes, it is true that some Apps go on sale a few days after being released. This is usually done if the app isn't selling well to begin with. That way, the app will get more sales, get higher on the list so more people see it, etc...

Personally I wait until apps go on sale in order to buy them. I am still waiting for a sale on Fieldrunners and X-Plane...

Of course, not buying an app sometimes when its been released can also lead to the price going up!

Apple should introduce a price policy to say the price can't be changed within a certain amount of time to stop people being ripped off and to stop it being using it as a cheat to get to the top of the charts. I'm sure UK shops have a similar law where something can't go on-sale unless its been at a certain price for at least 60 days.

Happens to me all the time. Fill up a tank full of gas, stop at Macy's and buy a shirt, stop at the grocery store and buy a carton of orange juice... next morning I open the newspaper and notice that the OJ and the shirts are on sale, drive by the gas station on the way to work and they've dropped the price per gallon. Never found a way to get a refund from the gas station or the grocery store.

Nothing different about the stuff in the App store.
