Just thought I would make a post here regarding the new AT&T Microcell. This device (femtocell) finally became available across the US as of today. I rushed down to my local AT&T store and plunked down my $149.
I'm in the SF Bay Area and have great reception everywhere - but my home. So, for me the Microcell made sense.
My phone now shows 5 bars with "AT&T MicroCell" instead of 3G

I just finished activating the Microcell. The activation went flawlessly. My first test call was excellent. An 11 minute call and it wasn't dropped and the sound quality was very good. Previously calls were almost immediately dropped.

I turned wifi off to test 3G speeds and wasn't impressed. 700kbs down and 111 kbs up. But, since I'll be always using wifi at home, I don't see this as an issue.

Opps, sorry for this post, I now see there is already a thread started for this.
