is it only me or does everyone else feels the same? I can't stand the way folders in iOS look. I particularly don't like the way they are smaller than other icons, lack color and have that ugly silver border around them. I wish I could at least specify the folder icon, instead of having several smaller icons make up the folder image, I would like to select one icon to show up on the folder. For example I have games folder with Rinbow Six, Real Racing HD, etc. I would love to be able to set the folder icon to Real Racing. Apple seems to be already doing it in their app store. When you look at at categories they pick one app and use it to represent Games or Entertaniment, etc. Any hopes that in near future we gonna get update that lets us do that??

I'd love to be able to customize folder icons, though not in exactly the same way you're suggesting. What I would like is be able to change the background behind the preview icons.

I love the way the folders look and behave. Like they're a hole inside the screen (which is why it has that silver linen and a white bezel icon with all the little apps inside.) Its like there is a hole on the screen and clicking it shows you what's inside. Its very elegant and i love it when Apple does metaphores like this that are simple and elegant rather than create a crude looking folder structure.

Kind of like the multitasking and Siri interface, the screen lifts up to show you hidden controls "under" the screen. Just like Mission control on OSX. The wallpaper zooms out to reveal all these windows and controls. Its very elegant.

Folders look really bad when you have only a few apps in one and they don't fill up the folder icon.

That's true.

However, when you do have a folder with 5 or more apps in it looks pretty good I reckon. I like the folders system on iOS (and in Launchpad, unlike many which might explain the difference of opinion between me and the thread starter here).

Agreed, it's a very well thought out implementation. And on the other hand, there's the way Android does it; all folders look the same and they open in a new window type thing *yawn*.

Can we all agree that this is the most over-used buzzword when worshiping apple?

I really don't care what they look like...the thing that bothers me is how restrictive they are by way of contents. I shouldn't have to have more than one page of apps...but because they limit how many fit in a folder I have to have Games 1, Games 2, Games 3...I should be able to just have Games, and they scroll thru that folder....hell if they want to stay consistent with the rest of the OS they could have it so you can swipe side to side in a folder (tho scrolling would be a lot better)
