I haven’t yet noticed this on my iPhone 12 Pro, but on my iPad Pro 10.5 after updating to 15.5, many apps (Twitter, YouTube, Safari) seem to exhibit horrible stuttering/lag, particularly noticeable when scrolling. Also when typing. Any one else see this? A restart didn’t help.

Well, not sure what to make of this, but evidently my iPad was exhibiting this behavior because it was connected to power. The moment I disconnected, the lag/stuttering cleared up. Funny that a restart didn’t fix it, but switching to running on battery seems to have done so. My guess is maybe while connected to power it was trying to do a post-upgrade iCloud backup and it was stuck in a loop or something and when I disconnected it stopped it from attempting the backup. (I’m on vacation and the WiFi here is relatively slow, so that may be a factor for a poor iCloud backup attempt.)

Anyway, so far so good.?

Mine XR(iOS15.5) have lagging issue when I swipe up to back home from some apps(safari,shopee…)

Maybe I've found a way to fix the issue of swipe up to home animation lagging.

*Setup -> Accessibility -> Motion -> Reduce Motion(ON)

If you still want to keep a smooth return to home animation, the method is as follows

*Setup -> Accessibility -> Per-App Settings -> Add App -> Home Screen -> Reduce Motion(Off)

I will do the same for the Safari browser. (...-> Add App -> Safari -> Reduce Motion(Off) )

And noew, I got a smooth and complete user experience. :)

↑ OK, I try this method few minutes, it doesn't work....

Absolutely no problems on IPhone 11 Pro and iPad Pro 2018 11”. Much better battery life and smoothness compared to 14.x and 15.4.x

I haven’t updated yet… there’s nothing in15.5 that I’m interested in or excited about. I was thinking there was a lot more to 15.5. I’m hoping for grand updates like camera improvements, night mode improvements, and more control over the cameras. Most of the listed improvements in an update I don’t use. I’ll skip this one.

I have been experiencing stuttering/lag since 14.6 on my 1 year old XS but iOS 15 as a whole exacerbated the issue to all new heights. It is downright embarrassing how choppy and laggy the experience is at times and really makes using the phone unenjoyable.

I have experienced the same thing on my 1.5 months old M1 Air as well on 12.4, very disappointing considering how powerful the M1 is and the hardware-software integration, which is supposed to prevent this from ever happening.

maybe should try 15.6 beta3(no beta4). On mine XR awesome good
I updated my XS to the latest public beta 15.6 and i only got minor performance improvements. Overall still very slow. It‘s also overheating constantly although i replaced the battery 3 months ago. I wish I could downgrade back to 14.8. Everything ran perfectly buttery smooth back then

I also want to go back to iOS 14, but we still need to have the courage to move forward!🥲

iPadOS 15.6 beta 5 fixed most of the lag I had on iPadOS 15.5 on my iPad Mini 6.
