This is mainly for the UK users but may be applicable to others as well. Two days ago I noticed something different about my home screen. The name "O2" (the UK's iPhone network] suddenly appeared in the middle of my screen, right underneath the time. My wives iPhone hasn't done this though? When I put both our phones next to each other you can see that all my apps have moved down ever so slightly and have become slightly more squashed together. What does it mean and why has it happened? I'm not particularly bothered, just curious!

Someone I know was told by an O2 employee "It's a glitch in how the iPhone is reading the SIM card".

It's harmless and temporary usually.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

Do a hard reset by holding power button and home button until it restarts. I've been told it's just a software glitch, so that should sort it out.

You're not wrong. Done the hard reset and it has indeed gone away!

Cheers.
