I don’t remember this happening when I first got them. Both transparency and noice cancellation. It’s pretty much always there, but more pronounced when I, like, smile (ears kinda move up). If that makes sense.

Are my ears just messed up?

It makes sense. - I just replaced mine with the 2nd version for the same reason. - The noise problem you notice is not new. Google will show you others with the same issue as far back as 2020.

So the new ones don’t rumble? I still have a few months of warranty left.

No. Not yet at least. But if you have warranty on those with problems you should use that warranty. - Mine was far out of warranty, so I had to buy Airpods Pro. But apart from the rumble there is not much difference between version 1 and 2. So save your money if you can.

Why don’t you let the them run out of battery then put them in your ears and see if the noise is still evident? In this way, you can establish whether it’s either due to their function, or if it’s merely due to their physical presence in your ears.
