I googled this and found a handful of people who lost the True Tone ability when they moved from iOS 11 to 12. Never seen it with a brand new phone, but here I am.

It didn’t work out of the box, so I set up as new iPhone 3 times. Then it showed up, but I decided to reboot my phone to see what would happen. When I turned it back on, True Tone was gone again. I tried to reset as new 3 more times to no avail.

I’m going to return the phone ASAP, just wondering if I’m the only one with this issue? Is this most likely a hardware or software issue? Seems weird to me.

Sounds like hardware to me, but yeah, will be interesting to see if anyone else has had that

What happens when you into Settings -> Display & Brightness? Right below the Brightness slider, there should be a toggle with True Tone.
