Been a while since I posted on here. iPhone XS Max Launch day phone here.

Phone was set up as new incase anyone is wondering.

I've had this problem with the phone since day one, but lately it's been happening more and more often, it's getting to the point where the phone is unusable.

Roughly ever 15th time I tap on a grouped notification to expand it, the phone freezes, audio (if playing) will still function, but the whole phone locks up until the home screen respawns. This takes a good few minutes, so I'm at the point where I'm force resetting my phone multiple times a day.

I'm on the latest iOS 12 but it's been doing this with the build the phone came with.

Gonna book it into the Genius Bar, but just interested to see if anyone else experiences this bug?

Not seeing this.

And to add to Brian's question: how many notifications are there grouped together?

When I have grouped notifications, not seeing this behavior, but then again, I do not have many notifications unread and do not get many (eg. lots of notifications from social media, news sites, etc where updating a lot).

"Set up as new" and NOT restored from a backup?

That’s correct! From the day I had the phone

We’re not talking about loads here, I mean it varies between 3 - 15 grouped notifications. Certainly not hundreds.

Nope but settings still hangs for a few seconds when opening after awhile. Wide spread issue from my research. Maybe yours is similar.

If only it were a few seconds and not a few minutes (unless I reset) strange how music keeps playing in the background too
