on my new MBP, id I take a single finger and run it across the area between the trackpad and the space bar I get this "weird" feeling almost like the case is vibrating. If I run two fingers the feeling is still there but but less noticeable, more fingers and the feeling is gone. Also if I run a single finger again across that area and then just slightly tuch the top case with a finger with my other hand it goes away. Now im not saying something is wrong with the computer but when im surfing the web just clicking around I keep rubbing that area with my finger (or the sides) and that feeling kinda sends a shiver down my spine sometimes. I have sensitive skin so maybe im just feeling something thats not there lol. Anyone else notice this? know what this is?

huh... that IS weird! I just did it, and I noticed the same thing too. I only get it when I drag my finger right to left though, not the other way! :)

Probably has something to do with the static electicity that might build up... or whatever part of the internal parts are there creating a bit of energy... not sure! But i feel waht you mean. It's just a weird haptic feedback type thing... like it's not really anything there, except a sort of energy vibraty feelin

very weird.

It does that at a few other places around the track pad too actually. Try it. It has to be something with static electricity or something building up when you do that .... from the internal parts creating an energy or something... hmmmm

Yeah, I've had that problem with my old 12" PB as well as my new MBP. I find it on various parts of the case - basically any part thats aluminum. It only happens when the computer is plugged in and not on battery power. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the current building up on the conductive aluminum from the AC adaptor. That current is running through your fingers producing that tingling/vibrating sensation.

I have something similar with my brand-new 2.4GHz MBP. I don't actually feel anything myself, but if someone else (like my wife) lightly touches me when I use the computer, she can feel a slight current on my skin (it sounds dirty, but it isn't). While it's nothing major, it is pretty weird. The machine is hooked up to a grounded outlet.

Normal or not?

EDIT: I just tested it when the machine was running on batteries, and it does the same thing.

It doesn't do that on my MacBook Pro. Do you have a CD or DVD in the Superdrive or are you extensively using the hard drive?
Nope nothing in the DVD drive, and it does it even when im completely idle.

yeah it does it all over the place, but I notice it more in some spots more then others

hmmm maybe if I use my computer enough ill gain some super powers from all the electric current then :D

really? cuz I just tested it and once I pull the magsafe out it does not do it anymore

ive felt that with my ipod mini, if i run my finger over the back whilst its charging it feels like its how yout explained that your mbp feels like.

It happens to me too.
It pisses me off so bad.
The moment I pull out the Magsafe it goes away.
I live in Spain and here we have double plug, no triple, so we don't have ground conectors.
Does this happen in all the MBP or just in a few ones?
Have you tried touching any part of the MBP with a cable attached to a sink?
Im gonna try it since it will probable make it go away.
Any suggestions?

Try using the grounded, 3-prong adapter that came with your MagSafe. There are many threads on this.
