Anyone else have youtube randomly pop up?

SOmetimes youtube screen will randomly pop up on my iphone. What gives?

Wow, it has been this long and nobody has experienced this problem. I am surprised I found this thread at all.

Seriously though do ads or the like have the ability to open the youtube application? I don't believe that the embedded autoplay code works on the iPhone so I am curious to why this can happen.

Sorry about the confusion. Allow me to make my question more clear. While surfing with Safari on the iPhone, do advertisements have the ability to trigger the youtube application to open?

The autoplay feature I am referring to is that of embedded youtube videos. I had a hunch that it might be the culprit however it is unlikely. Here is an example: http://www.jakeludington.com/images/myspace/youtube_autoplay.png. This allows any youtube video to play automatically when a user accesses a page it is embedded into.

Don't worry about any confusion caused. I am just glad I now understand what you originally meant and can now resolve and comment about this autoplay issue.

Anything with a link to a YouTube video has the ability to open the YouTube application, in any core app at least. However, whoever posted the video on YouTube must have allowed the video to be viewed on mobile devices with a built in YouTube app, i.e. iPhone and iPod Touch.

Embedded YouTube videos on websites shouldn't be able to play directly on the webpage. They should have a thumbnail and a blue play button on it. Once the play button appears, you can tap it and it will open the YouTube app and automatically play the video. If you tap "Done" or come to the end of the video, the YouTube app won't be shown, the webpage will reappear and you will be back to surfing!
