Anyone else having GMail issues with iOS Mail?

Since last night GMail has been incredibly slow in the iOS Mail app. Having the same issue on my iPhone and iPad. The website and GMail apps work fine. Tried restarting the phone, no dice. Has anyone else has any issues?

It is my contention that Google purposely breaks gmail on clients other then their own. I suspect that they do that to enhance their ability to collect data from the emails,

Seems to be working normally, now. Ran slow for about 24 hours on all of my IMAP devices.

Yes -- "failed to connect" errors last night (Tuesday PT).
Today working as normal.
