A lot of the apps from installer won't download. It sits there for about a minute then a message pops up stating that it timed out. Does anyone have any clue what this might be? Thanks for any help y'all can give me!

EDIT:

I started to get could not connect to server errors so I started the iPhone again and it works now.

EDIT 2:

I started getting the Package Download Failed box everytime I try to download anything. Restarting the iPhone does nothing. Any ideas?

klymer - we must have something in common. I moved my apps from the partition to free space, am running 3.0b10 installer (I'm afraid to update)... IDK....

It might be the installer itself. I haven't done anything but upgrade it all. I downgraded my iPhone to 1.1.1, jailbroke it, installed Oktoprep, upgraded to 1.1.2, then jailbroke it, then put in my SIM. After all that I started to download apps again and it said there was an upgrade so I upgraded. The Installer was having issues after that. I'm guessing that's the problem.

Try it now. It's working for me. I think the repository (or whatever) was down.

Are you able to update installer? I tried that earlier - failed. Then tried it again and it worked as are other things. I better try installing some more before I declare victory. But try updating Installer again if you didn't yet.

I shut down the phone and turned it back on. Now it's downloading a package and currently installing it. I was able to download 1 package and install it each time before when it seemed to be working, then it would stop working. I don't know what's going on.

Seems to be working after the restart. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I have a TurboSim OTB 1.1.2 phone. Whenever I try to download anything, for example BSD Subsystem, I either get the "Package Download Failed" message immediately or it starts to download, the status bar gets to full, then it gives me that error message. Anybody can help? It's been frustrating.

With all the different versions and hacks its getting complicated. Try this. Go to Settings/General/Reset the Reset Network settings. Also if you crash from time to time on Web Sites...Go to Settings Brightness and turn off Auto Brightness.

Now that I have Jailbroken 1.1.3 Many older Apps do not work yet. There is a new Installer being developed for the time being. Re-install the Installer app. update the Community Recourses. BSD Subsystem and the Fix and OpenSSH.

Hope this helps you.

Chris

I'm getting it all the time again also. I think it's the sources though. I can install some things just fine, but apps from other sources fail immediately. I don't think it has anything to do with your phone.

I found the problem with my installer.app this time. I had to update the community sources to the newest version. It's all working good now.
