I have 2 (defective) i7s.

In the two weeks I've had the first i7, it has kernel panicked 4x. That's 3 more than my G4 867/iMac 20"/iMac 24" have had combined.

In the two days I've had my 2nd i7, it has kernel panicked 2x.

There's no rhyme or reason to it either.

The most recent i7 panic: I was playing WoW and panicked just as we were about to start Heroic Nexus.
The previous one: I was scrolling through Mail with iTunes opened, and all of a sudden it panics out of no where.

At no time have the machines been fully stressed (Handbrake, Memtest, et al) so this is somewhat offputting.

Anyone else getting these issues?

Not a one.

Run the Apple Hardware Test CD, and also check the crash log to see if there's something in particular that's going on. You may need a reinstall of your OS if there's not a hardware problem.

I've been WoWing all afternoon & ripping a Blu Ray simultaneously. No problems.

Did you migrate from an older Mac? Sounds like you've either:

a) Been extremely unlucky and got two iMacs with bad RAM/logic board

b) Got some software installed that's added kernel mods that're causing the panics

Maybe take a look in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and post some output here?

Fresh install.
Apps freshly installed.
AHT passes properly.
Permissions are fine, yaddi yaddah.

I'd start by getting rid of the MS software & Steermouse (all the non-Apple stuff).

I suspect kexts given it's a kernel panic.

Would probably agree it's kexts. Snow is very fussy about them, and can KP with the least provocation.

Haven't had any KP's with this or the last i7. I've only had 2 in the 3 years I've owned iMacs. Did you try and remove everything that is not stock to narrow down the source of the KP? Something you've got hooked up is not agreeing with Snow Leopard, as we are both running the same software.

Funny cuz given on the 24" iMac, it ran just fine.
I've had crashes even with the straight up Bluetooth keyboard and Mouse.
