Seems to be a PITA now to make calls to anyone.

Open phone app
Hit contacts ( Only the categories appear)
Hit All Contacts
Have to type in a name to find contact
I click on the name, it opens up the contact card.
Then I have to hit the PHONE icon next to messages/facetime on the contact card
From there I have to hit work number

Call is made

What a Pain in the A$$

There must be an easier way

Yes this annoys me greatly. The calls tab should start a call when clicking the contact name, not open the contact card, which is what it does logically from the contacts tab.

Yes, you need to long touch the contact to get the option of calling. It should be the other way, long touch the contact to see the card.

If you switch it to the classic layout you can make calls in a single press from Recents.

Go to the top right of the "Recents" screen in the phone app and click on the icon with the 3 horizontal lines. Choose "Classic". It will go back to where you have one screen for favorites, one for recents, one for contacts, etc.

The new Unified view is terrible.

Yes, I did that

What´s the intention of offering a view without a "Favorites" button?
Is it a hint to the future where this will be the only view?
Will we lost Favorites tab/button with iOS27?

What do they smoke? A phone app without favorites - it is unbelievable.

Fortunately, Apple actually did add a setting for this. Settings -> Apps -> Phone, turn "Tap Recents to Call" on and it will revert to the old behavior. IMO this should have been the default.

Thanks for this! It's silly that Apple made a change to create duplicate functionality by default, and expected users to discover how reverse that change to bring back the more user-intuitive functionality.

Did I screw something up or does Unknown callers now appear as a badge on the icon? How do I disable that?
