I don't know if my eyes were playing tricks, but it looked to me that there was a number "2" in the switch-page button at the top of the Safari screen.

This was one of my requests, actually, that we have an idea how many "tabs" we have opened, so I think it's been implemented! :)

Of course I might have been imagining things, but I'm pretty sure!

Hmm. Didn't notice that. But I did notice a button to the left ofnthe address bar. Looked like the button you hit to make a picture your background. Hmmmm

Safari on my iPhone 4 gives me a number in the bottom right, indicating how many tabs I have open. Maybe it's just part of iOS 4 and it'll show up in November on the iPad.

Yes it's surely has a new icon for tabs — and a new icon for "sharing" I think.

That's because that iPad was running 4.2, as steve said. So it looks like you'll have your feature in November. :)

I was expecting something more elaborated for iOS 4.2 so it would be worth the wait, but just a big version of the iPhone software just isn't enough (In my thoughts)

Please, Apple, make Safari for the iPad much better....please.

It is a complete let-down that a single person (You are awesome, Richard) developed a web-browser—The Atomic Web Browser—that is far and away more complete than Apple's iPad web browser...

Please just let them fix the reloading tabs issue as it's driving me nuts. I love my iPad but Safari is just getting tiresome now. On Macrumors tonight every single time I close a tab that i have opened a link from it reloads the original page. So annoying. I prefer Safari to Atomic Browser so if Apple can just fix that I won't pull what remains of my hair out.

Just curious, why do you prefer Safari? Because if it's the look and feel you prefer, I would suggest looking at iCab. It has a nice clean Apple Safari look, but with additional features of Atomic. :)

I'll give it a go. Just downloaded it and it seems good. Like the scroll pad feature. Thanks :)

Ok I've used it for a few hours now and I love it. Safari was really starting to aggravate me and iCab has addressed the issue I had and a few more I didn't realise I had :) Thanks for the recommendation mate. Most appreciated. My only gripe is that I hate the icon :)
