I tried to use the elliptical marquee tool and the cursor kept flashing between an arrow and the cross hairs. So, I used a different method to do what I was wanting to do. Now I need to use the stamp tool, but it keeps telling me to option click an area first. When I hit option it does the same thing, flashes between the arrow and the crosshairs. Any ideas?

EDIT: I restarted the Mac and it's working fine now. Weird.

I have this problem often ... it's SO annoying. I was hoping Adobe would have issued a fix by now but it's still there. The best fix I could find is to restart Photoshop, but I'd rather not do that. I'll post if I find a better quick fix.

you're not alone, me to, the curcor keep flashing.

I have to restart ps to use it again. not a problem as my com is fast at opening photoshop.

I haven't had an issue since the day I posted that. It better not come back to haunt me now that you brought this thread out of the grave! I wish you guys luck in finding a solution.

I have this problem way too often, it is SO annoying. It happens about 40% of the time I use the program, and the only way I can fix it is to restart Photoshop. It makes no difference whether I am in Rosetta mode or not, and I have a brand new imac with a fresh install of CS3 (not an upgrade) with all the latest updates and no plugins or special preferences.

This needs to be fixed right away =(

AGREED! I keep running into it still. It didn't do it for a long time, but it has since started up again.

Another annoyance, all my menu bars disappear in the CS3 programs. Hitting Tab usually brings them back, but I've had them disappear and not return a few times. Not even setting the workspace to default helps. Any ideas on that one?

Put me in the "I experience this way too frequently" club.

At least once or twice per session.

I have found nothing that helps other that a PS restart.

Cheers, Chuck
