If they can come out with a decent stylus and find a way to link it to a Mac/Macbook, this could be a great way for Apple to get people into the tablet market. Sure, you're missing pressure sensitivity, but for a simple mask-drawer and photographer I almost never use pressure sensitivity on my Intuous.
If you could somehow make the iPad a display similar to the Cintiq line, it would be phenomenal. The only worry for me would be the glass screen.
Not only would you now have a very basic graphics tablet, you could now upgrade iPhoto, release original software or integrate it with existing software. Not to mention, unplug the thing and you have a mobile device as well, which conveniently holds and displays all your images while adding the ability to share them on the go.
