Why does it seem that every app, no matter the complexibility, usefulness, greatness, or even the crappiness, contains at least one of the following reviews, along with the one star to help:

1) What is this?

2) How do I use this...I don't get it.

3) This should be free (even if it's a major app)

4) I have no need for this, so I'm giving it one star.

5) Sweet! I'm the first review!

I'm tired of seeing what seem to be real great apps get dragged down in ratings by people being idiots.

But I guess that's what things are these days. People gotta be funny. I wish the app store would only let you post a review something like 24 hours after downloading/purchasing said app.

Agreed, mostly. I do think feedback on price is good when there's another app that does literally the same thing. iBeer comes to mind. It's $2.99 for something that really doesn't look much more involved than iPint, which is free. Same deal with the people charging for flashlight apps.

I agree 100% with the poster. Way too many stupid reviews on iTunes. Reminds me of Amazon.com. I love it when someone leaves an item a one-item review on Amazon.com along with comments like the following...

"FedEx lost my package!"

"Amazon charges too much for shipping"

"Found it cheaper at Wal-Mart''

Yes, and that's the item's fault.

Maybe things would be a little better if you could respond to reviews. Like if someone makes a mistake and says an app doesn't do this or that, but you know it does, it would be nice to reply to add the correction there, and the original reviewer gets an e-mail of the reply. Also, no one would give a stupid review if they go spammed like heck.

Argh, these reviews really annoy me! When a game could have the full 5 stars.. reviews with such "does not load past splash screen" put them down because they don't even try to restart the iPhone etc.

Also when they say "too expensive to buy".. so really they haven't bought the thing.. they're just saying it's too expensive without trying the app!

Yep. I've spent too much time commenting on those irrelevant reviews on Amazon. I've long since given up, but it bugs the crap out of me.

well you cant leave a review for an app you didnt buy, so they had to have bought it.
