I to this day, in 3 years of iPhone ownership have still never paid for a single thing on the App Store.

I'm angry that Angry Birds/Bad Piggies is free on Android but costs 99 cents on iOS.

Come on now, I wanna play those games. Before people tell me I'm cheap, maybe that's why, I can certainly afford 99 cents on an app w/o any problems. But I'm a man of policy, and not spending money on the App Store has been my policy for years now, and I am not about to betray that now just for Angry Birds.

non-contributor

If anything it us we that should be pissed that we have to share this world with non-contributing bags of flesh.

you must be a communist if you think everyone should contribute. I believe in capitalism.

You gotta pay to play.

And I don't think anyone's going to care that you're mad that you can't play a game that you can "certainly afford" to buy, but won't out of "policy."

If it's that big a deal you could switch to the platform with free Angry Birds & Bad Piggies games. :D

I was waiting for someone to make a snarky remark about how Android users are poor or greedy or too cheap to buy 99 cent games! As an android user I'm none of the above - but I probably wouldn't bother with at least a few games if there wasn't a free version to try/play.

That said, even on the Android market (and the Amazon appstore) there are the 99 cent versions available with no ads :D The best part is that Amazon occasionally has them as the free app of the day :D

I've written to the United Nations to see if they can help with this. It's all well and good addressing famine and genocide but if they can't ensure that we enjoy parity with our Android cousins and get to play a sub-standard game for free then what's the point of them.

I've not had a response yet but thats probably because they are too busy firing badly animated birds at pixelated pigs for free on their Samsung Galaxies.

No, because they are littered with ads. This can be a battery drain.

So pick which is more important and fix your problem. Or switch to Android.

Bear in mind that you don't get the full version in the free edition, also, it's ad supported (and they use your location to serve geo targeted ads.)

Lol

99 CENTS! I had to pay a buck fifty on an android. ON THE MARKET. Quit your crying and buy the 99 cent game.

How about a useful reply?

I have all the Angry Bird games for my iPhone and never paid a cent for them. But I follow sites like AppShopper on a fairly regular basis. If you did that, you'd find that they go free from time to time. It just comes down to paying attention. You can also register on their site and get emailed whenever an app you "want" drops in price.

I don't like paying for apps either (and like you, I can afford to buy). But I've gotten some real gems just putting a little effort in every day to see what's been temporarily reduced to free. Both games and other apps. That's not to say I don't buy from time to time. But I'd estimate 90%-95% (easily) of my paid apps I got for free.

You believe in capitalism ??? Contradiction in your reply above.

Communism (or Socialism), getting things for free, and if you believe in Capitalism, it's for those that want to make money on a product they make.

Want it for free ?? Go to the Android platform
