I've been finding some great deals on iTunes cards on Craigslist. I found someone that got a $50 iTunes card for Christmas that didn't want it so I talked him into selling it for $30 cash. Then I found another guy that had 3 $10 iTunes cards and agreed to let them go for $15 for all 3.

So now I have $80 built up on my iTunes account to buy Apps and Movies for my iPad. I'm definitely buying Brushes, Keynote, and Pages so that's $30. I'm still debating what movies to get. I'm thinking Star Trek (the movie), Up, and The Hurt Locker.

A quick side question, do you guys think it will matter if I buy the Standard Movie from iTunes for $14.99 rather than the HD version for $19.99? Will you be able to tell a difference on the iPad itself?

Man I wish April 3rd would hurry up an get here, the wait is killing me!

Dang! That's not a bad idea!

Nah, I haven't but I probably should with deals like that.

I think with the size of the screen, there should be a noticeable difference between the HD and the SD content.

Plus if you want to 'future-proof' your purchases, I think you will be happier in the long run with buying HD content. Displays will only get bigger/higher-res and having more detail in your movie files will serve you well over time.

what section are they usually under?

And as for CL....might there be some sort of scam to watch out for? Have you verified that all of these cards work?

I guess I would be wary...especially on Craigslist...that some of these might be scams selling already-used cards. Something to consider. :(

I've been able to get itunes gift cards at best buy or staples every so often when they have a deal on them. Usually at 20% off. Keep an eye on the sunday ads every week.

I wouldn't buy from someone you don't know. I did that and added the funds to my itunes account. Then a week later my account was closed. Turns out that they were not legit for some reason.

I have $60 in rewardzone points...so I'll be exchanging that for iTunes cards come April 3. :D

I just do a search on Craigslist for iTunes, all the cards I bought were never opened and I entered them in and they all worked. I now have $80 on my iTunes account. If they weren't legit they wouldn't work. I was worried at first but both people were really nice and gave me their phone numbers, addresses, etc. If they were scamming me I doubt they'd do all that.

Back to the difference of SD and HD. Since the iPad is 1024x768 it can't even play 720p right? So it would be kinda pointless to get the HD unless I watch them on my computer or TV and I don't really plan on doing that. Even though the difference is only $5 between 2 movies that's enough to buy a game or app. Ugh, I dunno, I can't decide.

Just out of curiosity I did a search on ebay. What i found was confusing and amazing: $25 itunes cards with buy it now prices of $30. $50 itunes cards with buy it now prices of $60.

Are people really this stupid?

On FleaBay . . . . yeah they are

I might (stock up on iTunes cards) if I were 100% sure they can be used in the App Store now

I just stockpile the cards I get from my iTunes rewards credit card. I have like $180 in my account and another $150 in giftcards sitting in front of me.

That's how Sam's Club is too, they only offer a few bucks off regular price. I wish it was closer to Christmas. At Meijer during the holiday season they always offer buy an iTunes card, get 1 free.

The supermarket that I work at in Australia sometimes has 20% off all iTunes cards, so I pick up those when I can (plus I get my entire 5% staff discount!).

So I've got A$90 sitting in my account at the moment.
