I love the content, some awesome videos and photos, particularly of wildlife.

Everything else about the app sucks horribly. Possibly one of the worst designed pieces of software I’ve ever used. Here is why:

1. You can’t side scroll through pictures quickly and efficiently like Facebook or any other software with a photo album feature. You literally have to back out of each individual photo and return to the grid of thumbnails to view the next pic. What is the meaning of this?! Makes absolutely zero sense, horrible design flaw.

2. You can’t zoom in, save, or copy pictures. Also incredibly stupid for a PHOTO sharing app. Copyrighted stuff is one thing, but most of it isn’t.

3. Impossible to find people! It only allows you to search by name, not city, school, workplace. Often people don’t use their full/real names and have some weird username. The only other way to find people is to search friends lists but most people have private acounts.

4. When you do click on someone’s friends list, and you swipe right to go back to their profile it drags you through 3 different screens! From following, to followers, to mutuals. Very inefficient and annoying. Twitter does this as well, must be the same designer.

Who designed this app? They should be fired! Don’t bother telling me how popular instagram is, people are idiot sheep and will eat up whatever is trendy, popularity has never been indicative of quality.

#1 is confusing me. I don’t have to back out of anything to see posts of multiple photos, or, when looking at one account, I just scroll down to look at individual posts.

I’d say Instagram’s biggest sin is being locked in portrait mode for photos. Also, do NOT like that Facebook owns them.

Well a lot of misinformation here. Instagram hasn’t been locked to portrait mode in like 5 years. You can zoom in on photos, just use a pinch gesture like you would in the stock photos app. You can scroll through photos without going back out to the main grid of someone’s profile. I don’t know why you can’t? There’s a button to change it from grid to scroll.

If you turn your phone sideways, what happens to the photos? I see no change. That’s misinformation.

Ahh ok I see now you can scroll vertically, still not as intimate or good of a design as facebook’s where the background is black and you can tap on it to remove the caption/comments from view and look exclusively at the picture.
