If the next note is 6.3 inches, I'm thinking it can be my on the go tablet. Big enough to read and watch video, plus the resolution will be at least 720p. Anyone else planning this? I don't want a iPad mini for this reason.

I think it would be a good tablet size. I have the note 2 now but would not get a Note 3 at that size.

You can use the note 2 for that.

Kudos to you though if you can handle the size. Wish I could. The note 2 is sexy but after trying it I just cannot use it with my average hands :(

I really don't see a way they make a bigger Note when the next generation comes out. With the Note 8.0 on the way out in the next quarter anything bigger could start to cannibalize those sales.

I think we're going to be sitting in the 5.5, 8 and 10 sizes for the foreseeable future.

I hope it is 6.3 inches. I'd treat it like my 7" tablet. Plus it'd be a phone too. Big for a phone? Maybe. But for a portable tablet? Perfect.

Kinda glad the first iPad mini wasn't retina. I would've got it and prolly skipped this note 3.

I am 90+% sure I will be getting the Note 3. I think I would prefer the 6/6.3 inch screen size over the Note 2 since it would still easily fit in my pocket but have an ever larger screen area. I don't see a need for a tablet when a Galaxy Note is so capable and I have a laptop and a TV if I need a larger screen. I would like to get rid of the laptop if I could but there are still many programs that are Windows/laptop only at this point.

I like the size of the note 2. And for the most part it can replace a tablet. One of the only things I do exclusively on tablets these days is read books. I would prefer the note 3 be roughly the same size just with a nicer display and the obvious spec bumps.

6.3 isn't too big for replacing a 7" tablet. And the resolution would be better than the note 8.0.

A 6.3 inch Galaxy Note 3 also won't have gigantic bezels like 7 inch tablets do so it will be much smaller.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Unless the next iPad mini is a great improvement, I'd be all for the note 3. Just need it to be over 6 inches I feel

No. I wouldn't. If I'm gonna use a tablet I want an actual tablet with good tablet apps. I can already conduct business from my phone but if I need to sit down and get stuff done a laptop would be my first choice (depending on the work) and a tablet for the lighter stuff. It's nice having two separate devices. For me anyway. I can definitely see the appeal of one though.

I like the size of the Note when I'm out and about but still prefer a full size tablet when I'm browsing at home.

They should keep the next note with current screen size with smaller bezel atleast for the note 3, i dont see why they should make the damm screen bigger just because is a new revision

My guess is it won't go over "6 for the next revision of the Note line up. I'd say 5.7 or 5.8. Think about it for a second the original Note was 5.3, Note 2: 5.5, Note 3: 5.7. Now look at the GS3 and GS4 small incremental jumps in screen sizes. 6.3 would be too much of a jump.

If it works for you OP fair enough, but for many of us a 6"+ phone is just too big for a phone....

well the note 3 would be my portable tablet really. The phone functionality would be a bonus, I really wouldn't use it for that all too much. Just seeing the appeal of having a 6.3" tablet really, with great specs/great screen vs. a dedicated tablet like the note 8 or ipad mini. I would have the note 3 and another phone, using the latter as my main communication device.

And yes, I'd still have a tablet at home (likely over 9") but this would be for travel.

The Galaxy Note 2 was a "tablet killer". As a phone and tablet mixed in all in one is pure genius. The dual screen multitasking and S-pen steps the game up even more. With the rumored Galaxy Note 3 sporting a 6.3" screen, it pushed the bar even more. As far as tablet replacement I would say not. A tablet (in my opinion) is considered 8" -10". The highest that I see as a combination is 6.3". Anything higher then 6.3" is tablet. Samsung's 8" tablet is proof. Tablets in my opinion also Need to have high battery power. Ex. iPads 11,500 mAh battery. The 3100 mAh found in the Galaxy Note II is already impressive. As well as the 3300 found in the Huawei Mate. If company's like Samsung can manufacture a Galaxy product that sports a battery that lasts (moderate and heavy use) three days, ill consider that tablet.

Lol - have we finally hit the plateau where bigger doesn't mean better???

Personally, 4" - 4.7" is my sweet spot.....anything bigger and I can't comfortably use it one-handed.

I agree. I think the perfect size phone that you can still use for web browsing would be 4.7"

Nah. I'd want something at 8" min for a tablet. I wouldn't mind a slightly larger screened Note 3 if they can make actual phone a bit less wide like they did going from the Note to Note 2
