Hi, since Maine appears to be a fairly dead State in regards to coverage with the iPhone I just wondered if anyone here is using the iPhone in Maine.

I'm in Bangor and coverage is spotty. Most of the time I have the ability to make and receive calls but finding the elusive EDGE network seems to be more of an issue. I'm thankful I have wireless at home. Not getting my e-mails right away wouldn't be as much of an issue but I hate seeing "voicemail unavailable" and having to wait for EDGE to get it.

I can't seem to get anywhere with AT&T about finding out what their plans are to increase coverage. Maine is obviously due for some more towers.

I LOVE the phone though - it is incredible!

While I don't live in ME, I visit often, my GF lives in Yarmouth. In the Portland area, the coverage is great. It's very rare that I don't have Edge coverage, all the way from Cape Elizabeth to Brunswick. I even had Edge up in Bar Harbor, but I image the tourist towns will be first and then other cities.

I would imagine that Bangor would get better coverage soon, but I'm jut guessing. I hope you get it soon, because I do love this phone and am not changing back to the crackberry anytime soon.

Dirigo baby! I'm posting from my iPhone in Portland. I was on AT&T before and had perfectly acceptable coverage then, and it's been as good or better with this phone. I've had no problem with EDGE around town, and I've maintained a pretty good connection in Ellsworth and in the rural areas just north of Augusta. Sorry to hear you're having trouble in Bangor; I'm sure they'll get things sorted out.

I was just up in Maine for a week at a summer camp on Sebago lake and coverage was great out there.
