Hi

When doing some housekeeping of old external hard drives, I found a load of what appear to be iTunes backups from 2008 - 2010 (mddata and mdinfo files inside folders called things like 03493495efg90sd90349090ef90e9043fg9ert903490erg), but when viewed with iBackup Extractor, or BackupTrans and other apps, there is zero data apparently inside. Some of the main folders are very small, so that's perhaps to be expected (though I don't understand why), but one for example is nearly 1GB and another over 280MB, so they can't be just files of nothing?

Anyone else ever have this? Is it an issue with old backups that newer apps just can't read anymore? Obviously I can't go into iTunes and try to restore any of these, and all I want to see is what's inside, text message and maybe photo wise just to make sure there's nothing on there of sentimental value. It's just very odd.

Thanks
Ant
