Anyone ever heard of Xbox OS on pc?

I was just thinking about gaming in general and was wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of someone hacking the Xbox 360 OS and loading it onto a PC.

It would be cool to be able to play normal PC games and then when you felt like it boot into the Xbox 360 dashboard and put Xbox games into your PC and play them that way. I've seen the PC cases with the Xbox 360 hardware inside but I wasn't sure if you could load dual OS's onto it.

If this is illegal and can't be discussed here I understand if this thread doesn't go very far.

Impossible. There are so many hardware checks in the Xbox "OS".
It would be possible to gut an Xbox and stick it inside a case, but have a KVM switch to jump between Xbox and PC.

But one of the biggest fundamental problems is why would anyone play an Xbox game when (IF) there is a PC version with free online, free DLC, more control options, better graphics. It could be useful for exclusives but given the choice of playing an FPS on PC or Xbox when using a PC monitor, it has to be the PC.

Edit: It could be done through emulation. But it will be a very long time until computers can fully emulate an Xbox 360.

Why not:

First, xbox runs on G5 processors.
Second, xbox is sold far below cost.

I am slowly starting to wade into PC gaming. I just got XP running in Bootcamp and downloaded Steam last night. I have always been a console gamer but the cost savings of PC games has started to entice me.

It seems like all the games I have been looking forward to lately have a PC version that cost less and has free content and free multiplayer. COD4MW2, L4D2, Dead Rising 2, Assassins Creed 2, they all have a cheaper PC version. The keyboard and mouse will take some getting used to but in the end I still have the option to use a 360 controller.

I guess the only downside is my iMac doesn't have as good of graphics as the Xbox. I have yet to try any games with my iMac hooked up to my 50 inch samsung.

PC gaming is better for certain type of games
main benefit for game players is no auto aim

Consoles are usually fixed at a relatively low fps, but keeps it steady.

Actually it doesn't. The processor in the Xbox is basically what you would get if you took Cell, chopped off the 7 SPEs, and then copied the PPE (the main core) twice. It is definitely a PowerPC chip, but it's a much odder one than a G5.
