Anyone Experience This?

So I have decided to pick up an iPhone and leave Verizon ... well sort of.

I currently have two lines with Verizon. One for me, and one for my better half. They want to stay with Verizon to avoid having to pick up a new phone.

I'd like to just pull my phone (and port the number to my iPhone) off of the plan and leave the other line on there for the duration of the contract. Will I have to pay a contract termination fee?

I'll call Verizon if I have to, but maybe someone else out there has experience...

I am pretty sure that contracts are attached to phone numbers and not accounts. That's how they get ya.
