On public beta 3 and 4 (the GM) I get a freeze once every 2 days or so. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yep, me too — and some other people as well. Seems to be a known bug (according to Apple) though.

Is anyone of you running Sophos?

Nope.

I thought it was in the last beta (had freezing on PB 3), but for this being a GM candidate, freezing seems like it shouldn't be present. Retina MBP or what are you using?

I have experienced this since DP6 or so. My config is very similar to yours (I have a lower CPU). Hope that they will fix the issue until the release.

Funny thing is, my iMac worked flawlessly until Mavericks. Mavericks worked flawlessly, too, but once in a week it would just freeze and would require hard reboot. Now in Yosemite everything is back to normal. Must be some Apple magic :D

I've had freezes from PB1 to PB3 but seems like PB4 fixed the issue for me.

PB4 feels fast, fluid, snappy and more stable than previous PB's. Quite satisfied with it.

You guys use safari? I've been keeping activity monitor open watching memory in the background as I use my computer to see if I have a problem. I noticed that Safari with 2 macrumors pages and one netflix page was up to 2 gigs of memory. Restarted safari and it's down to 200 mb.

So yeah, wondering if a safari memory leak is my problem.

I have freezes, but only in safari, last about 10 seconds with a spinning beachball then back to normal.

I don't experience any memory leaks with Safari. Not to mention, a Safari memory leak can't freeze your system — most it can do is slow it down to a crawl. Its definitively a kernel space issue. My bet is on the graphics driver.

I did experience this one, but a restart fixed that for me. That same time I was having the problems, I wasn't able to sleep my computer, but again, a restart fixed that as well.

edit-just kidding, seeing that as well...

Hm. Well then I imagine I have a couple issues, as safari was definitely using more ram than normal, but a graphics driver would make sense with 3 of us having the same laptop.

Same here though my beachballs tend toward 20-25 seconds; been that way with every PB release. Also, Mail crashes a lot which it never did with MaverX.

Saw my first "out of memory" error message on a Mac today. All of a sudden I'll get this window pop up and it tells me to force quit stuff because the machine is out of memory.

I checked memory usage in Activity Monitor and it showed Mail using 40 gigs!

First time I've had issues w/10.10 and I've been using it since Beta 1.

Just two hours ago my mac air froze, then restarted after about a minute or so.

I am on PB 5 and did a clean install with PB 3/update to PB4.
