Anyone found a decent USB-C hub? that doesn't keep dropping drive connections?

I have purchased and returned several USB-C Hubs. That is from USB-C on my MacBook to HDMI/USB-A etc, every single one I've tried cannot hold the connection to external hard drives and either immediately or after a few minutes, the drive is dropped/ejected and I get the warning notification from the OS. A $9 USB-C to A adapter works perfectly on all drives as does one cheap, no-brand hub that my wife bought somewhere and I cannot find on sale. All suggestions appreciated. Cheers Robert

MEA CULPA - I was using a 30w power supply and maybe was starving the various hubs of power. With a 67w power supply, everything has started working well, even the $15 hub from Amazon. Sorry if I mislead anyone.

If you're going to use a hub with numerous devices attached, get a POWERED hub -- one with it's own power supply block.
