We have two iPhones (a 6 and a 6 Plus) and two iPad Minis (a 2 and 4). All were updated to iOS 10. But on the two iPhones the Music Widget is empty and tapping it does nothing. But the widget seems to work on both iPad Minis. I have tried removing the widgets through the edit screen and putting them back but nothing changes.
Any suggestions?

Been having the same issue since Beta, no clue as to why excepting that maybe it's because I manually pull my music from my computer to my iPhone rather than using iTunes Match or Apple Music over streaming, but, I have no idea...

I got it to work after I did hard resets of the two iPhones. Still a bit flaky. Also - what is annoying to me - is if I start playing a particular playlist, switch to something else and then use the music widget to go back to that playlist, it starts all over again. Would have thought that Apple would have solved this already. Also, if I shuffle a large playlist (my usual way of listening) and then use the widget to start that playlist again, it will usually not shuffle the list, just play it in order from the beginning unless you go back into the Music app and select shuffle again.

Wish I could say it works for me but not even a hard reset or restoring to factory settings has worked. It's not a critical app, but would be cool to see it working... sans bugs or with better control options like you just mentioned o_O

EDIT: Nevermind, it's working now... annoyingly it only detects songs when I tap on the playlists rather than from shuffling my collection... hrrrm....
