As the title says. I can understand upgrading from iPhone X to iPhone XS Max, but for those who don't want the gigantic phone, is there any real reason to upgrade from X to XS? I have another month until my "new every 12" is up to think about it, but is it even worth upgrading? My iPhone X has been the best iPhone I've ever owned, and now that I upgraded to iOS 12, it is even more impressive.

So those of you who are upgrading from iPhone X to iPhone XS, other than because its the newest phone and you have to have the newest or because "why not, its just money", why upgrade?

If you're in an upgrade program where you can either get the new phone or keep this one for another year and it's yours to keep, I'd keep the X. XS isn't that big of an upgrade IMHO. Then next year you'll own the X outright to do with what you wish and then get the next iPhone.
Any thing you get by selling the X next year puts you that much money ahead.

My thoughts exactly. I typically skip the "S" models to end up owning the phone outright at the end of 24 months, then either sell it, keep it as a backup, give it to a family member to use. I will probably keep that tradition going.

The XS is a great update if you don't already have an iPhone X. If you do, I don't see the point.

I speculate that one of the reasons iPhones are getting so expensive is because Apple is building in a longer ownership cycle.
