Ok so I'm really disheartened by all the bickering going on in this forum... I'm a new iPhone 3G owner, Macbook pro owner, Apple TV owner... basically everything apple! I come from a serious windows background of working for a computer repair shop the last 4 years! Back to my point... I got MobileMe the day it came out and I REALLY like it... yes the stupid auto sync from computer thing is a real bitch but the what the service provides (web space, web disc space, online galleries, etc...) is worth the 99$... Everything you really need to take full control of the web is in one place, and I come from an advance background and I'm still saying this! I for one am giving MobileMe a chance and making it my main email address.

I think that the key thing here is that most expect a seamless & pain-free rollout from Apple (or as much as is possible), and granting that this has been probably the most problematic release in their history, the outrage and righteous indignation is at a higher level than ever. This is not what is ever anticipated from "our beloved" Apple.
Were it Microsoft, folks are accustomed to being underwhelmed, and commonly pass it off as an, "oh well, just wait for SP1" kind of approach. With this they feel, and maybe rightfully so, that they were fairly well handed a buggy beta product. Did Apple not thoroughly test this out? Did they plan poorly for the simultaneous release? Should heads roll? Time will tell.
Remember too that most of the posters here and on similar forums are much more aware and vocal than the public at large, and also tend towards a more emotional, sky-is-falling, demanding response than the average buyer. Gotta take it all with a bit of salt, and more than a little perspective.
I'd say, let's see what Apple's response is both technologically and publicly, see how this plays out, and make our own personal decisions then. My subscription is up in December, so I've got nothing to lose by waiting until then--though I fully expect this to be settled long before that time comes. I really do have more important things to get my panties in a wad over than this.

I'm sticking with it. For me, it does everything I need. It syncs contacts, calendar, and mail between a laptop, desktop, and my iPhone... wirelessly.
I don't care that it's instantaneous as much as I care that it's done wirelessly. No more plugging the iPhone into the dock to sync my information.

I'm sticking with it, because overall it is still great for $99. Just think, a little over a year ago we only had 1 gig of storage, now we have 20, not to mention "Push" for most of it...however, I am getting sick of Apple not delivering on their selling points. Back To My Mac was just as boggled, and still does not work well.
I've been a proud user since last Thursday and no service that's down 24/7 is going to keep me from canceling!
