Hello all,

Was just interested to know if anyone has purchased the new (as of a few months back) MacBook Pro?

I've got 13 inch 2.3Ghz Intel i7, 32GB RAM, 1TB

One annoying thing I've noticed with it, is the keyboard is hot! The Touch Bar is very hot and when you use the fingered it feels like putting your finger on a radiator

I'm concerned this is a design fault and something I may just have to get used to it

Would be interested to hear from anyone else who has purchased one

Thanks

Gavin

No issues with mine. But I have the i5 processor, 16 GB of memory and 512 GB SSD. Mine is the 2020 version with the 10th gen processor. First released on May 7, 2020. Is this the version you have with the i7?

Hi there, sorry for delay. I thought I got email notifications.
I have the i7
I have been speaking to Mac Support for many weeks. They say my mac isn't overheating through the tests its run but even typing this my keys are hot and it's comfortable, so I'm wondering if it's more a design flaw rather than a thought

I have returned mine because of the heat. Bought another one, knock on wood, it hardly ever gets warm.
Which one did you have?

I had meassured about 45 degrees on the surface of the touchbar while idling with my MBP 15 2018 and external monitor.
Apple said yes its a bit much but inside the specification... so no reason to return it nor use apple care...

When doing heavy loads, my 2020 MBP gets quite hot. The bottom of the laptop would burn my legs if resting directly on skin. Not sure about normal usage yet, but I do sense a good amount of heat on the keyboard/touch bar when the computer is running heavy loads. Not sure if that's normal? I've had a 2014 MBA for years and didn't pay attention to when it was hot or cold (it didn't seem to perform oddly).

I have a 10th gen i7/512/16 and I haven't noticed or really even thought about any heat issues with it.
