I just picked up a great deal on a macbook. $880 or so shipped for a Rev A 1.6/hdd with a super drive and iLife09 and iWork09 included. and windows 7 beta installed, not bad. (friend, not ebay scam)

I bought it with the intent of just reselling it and getting an Alum Macbook as I was originally going to do, but I'm thinking of keeping it now. I'll see how it is when it comes sometime next week then decide.

Anyways could anyone comment on performance with this usage: 16 or so tabs open in firefox, itunes and adium running in the background.

That's about 99% of my usage.

I am sorry, but I am sure it is better to search the forums since revA is something from the past and it has tons of threads. In addition, you can ask this question on the $999 refurbished revA thread :)

The usage you described should be just fine as long as there aren't too many pages open with Flash running in them.

My daily use includes an XP VM in Parallels, Firefox x3 tabs, Entourage, Word, iTunes, Grab and Google Earth all at the same time. No problems at all. The fan gets a bit noisy, but I am not picky about that.

My model is a 1.6 Rev A, without Coolbook.
