The beauty of the activation process was that it only took me 10 minutes, on the 4th of July no less, and it handled cancelling my Verizon contract. So that means I didnt have to worry about calling them only to have a huge sales pitch be thrown at me for me to stay with them.
Well I got a call from Verizon today, at work of course. They wanted some feedback on why I cancelled my account. This is how the convo went:
V-Rep: We've noticed that you've cancelled your account. May I ask why you decided to cancel your contract after such a long history of being with Verizon?
Me: Well, I wanted to get an iPhone and that meant switching carriers.
V-Rep: How do you feel about the iPhone so far? And has it lived up to your expectations?
Me: It has exceeded my expectations and has been wonderful to use since the day I bought it.
V-Rep: What would you say you like best about it?
Me: Well the user interface is gorgeous, everything is just so graphically pleasing that it makes it fun to use the phone.
I can use Google Maps to search for a restaurant or store and have it give me directions and offer to call the number. No more 411 charges.
I can view actual webpages like I do on my desktop.
I can view my voicemails in a digital list format rather than calling my phone and going through voice prompts.
V-Rep: Is there anything we could offer you to come back to Verizon?
Me: You could offer me a free phone and free service and I wouldnt come back. The service was always great, its just that I wanted an iPhone and love using it now.
V-Rep: So you are saying that the only way you would come back to Verizon is if we offered the iPhone?
Me: Yep
V-Rep: Well thank you for your time, have a nice day.
Me: Your welcome, you too. Bye
Silent pressing of a finger on the touch screen (can't say "click" anymore lol)
