You do know instead of using our profiles you could just buy your own Spyder...

I am awaiting the arrival of my 24" Thus It is tough to see without having an actual unit.

Not to mention the profiles provided here will not have the first thing to do with the actual characteristics of his own display (they're obviously not all the same or there would be no need for colorimeters). Then you add in other variables that affect the end result like ambient lighting, etc.

Do your own calibration for best results. Doing your own SuperCal calibration is likely to produce better results than using someone else's Spyder settings for an entirely different machine.

Are you being facetious?

Nope. I looked at the files submitted. Your original request was "Anyone Have 24 iMac Alu Spyder Color profile to share?"

They meet your requested criteria. With that said, they are of no value to you. As SaSaSushi already mentioned. The profile is specific to the display it was created for. Apple provides generic profiles for the overall best performance on most iMac's. So unless you are trying to simulate someone elses display it will do you no good at all.

Well said, I was going to add that when I uploaded my profile _BUT_ TBH the iMac display is absolutely horrible out of the box so anything new has to be better than what Apple offered. ;)

Look.. Im NOT a friggin graphic artist or professional photographer. Im a normal Joe that is looking for a color profile that is more deep and Rich than the one provided by Apple (Which are terrible). I know they are specific, and I really do not need someone with a condescending attitude telling me so.

I had a 20" and that community posted some very nice ones for the specific manfactuers of the display. It appears most of the snotty Apple users people stereo type, are infact real and they seem to own 24" iMacs....

and here I thought I was trying to be helpful. Please don't be so sensitive. You asked for specific information and it was given to you. It was also pointed out that what you were requesting was not the best solution.

If you're not a graphic artist or a professional photographer what's with this need to get a profile calibrated by a professional colorimeter (for someone else's display :p)?

I already posted a link to SuperCal for you above. Would it be that much trouble for you to run through a detailed calibration on your OWN display?

I guarantee you will get good results.

Two kind souls immediately posted Spyder calibrations (for their displays) at your request. THEN you wanted someone else to download them and try them and report to you it seems.

The real problem here is you seem to be too lazy to do anything for yourself.

here here!

i think the OPs best option (until he get's his hands on his own colorimeter) is to just set the display to "Adobe (1998)". it's not the most precise option, and it's more optimized for print work (rather than webdesign) but it looks a hell of a lot better than the generic iMac color setting.

also, when i calibrated my screen quickly using Super Cal or even Apple's own app (using the generic iMac color setting as a starting point), each time my calibrations were quite similar to "Adobe (1998)"...

Then why don't you try them yourself Joe??
Do you ask your wife/girlfriend/mom which color of the car should YOU get??

1. chill...
2. system prefs > displays > color > (choose "Adobe 1998")
3. system prefs > universal access > seeing > enhance contrast: (move it up a tiny bit to get more rich colors)

Ok, I used the profile New Profile08-D65.icc on my 20 inch iMac (which obviously is a different lcd screen than the 24 inch)
It is very similar to a profile someone had posted earlier on this message board, "iMac f".

The good point is that the whites are better than I am able to get with OSX's built-in color calibration tool, no colorshift to yellow or blue (when viewed form an angle slightly above the ideal viewing angle)
Secondly the profile is a 'relaxed' one, one that is easy on the eyes and will never cause any fatigue.
Finally the profile is bright and revealing enough to show every detail possible in an image but 'dark' enough to not strain the eyes...which appears like a strange contradiction.
This is simply not possible with OSX's calibration tool.

The bad point however is that there isn't much contrast and colors lack some depth, the whole presentation is a bit dull and grey.
With my own made profile, in partnership with DarkAdapted, I get much more contrast and richer colors, wich is not necessarily more faithfull to the source (image or video), but to my eyes more pleasing.
I'll trade in details and 'faithfulness to the source' any time for nice vivid colors that pop of my screen.

Thank YOU very much, this is exactely what I was looking for. Would you care to share your profile?

PS. To the several numbnutz that cannot read.... I cannot try this out for myself as I am awaiting the arrival of my 24" on Tues 6-24. It amazes me the people that comment and do not even read the OP. It is called reading comprehension people... google it

Please consider a friendlier demeanor toward those trying to help you. We understood you did not yet have the iMac you were talking about. What we were suggesting was that you wait until it arrives to judge the color in person, in your environment. At that point you can try the other profiles to see if they make for a better display. Asking others to try a profile for you is not going to necessarily be the same as what you see with your eyes.

I am extremely appreciative of those that posted helpful comments and files. If anyone in anyway was offended, I do apologize.

Well... Looking at the Original Post I come to a conclusion that not only I'm a numbnut but I'm also blind!!!

Why don't you learn to express or explain yourself FIRST before preaching about reading comprehension huh?
